Recent Happenings

Ben has been very busy lately. The weekend of September 20th we went to Louisville for the Ryder Cup. Ben and I didn't go to the tournament with Daddy and Pops, but we had fun anyway. We went to the Louisville Zoo on Friday morning. They didn't have power because of the big power outage that KY experienced because of Hurricane Ike, but the animals didn't seem to mind. We also visited the Carr family - Emily, Michael and Connor and helped Emily and Connor both celebrate birthdays. On Saturday we headed to Ft. Thomas for the day. There was a really neat "touch a truck" event at the park.

Once we returned to Charlotte Ben was busy with school, playgroup and a 2-year old birthday party for Tommy Sullivan. We might have to curb our social activities this week since there is no gas in Charlotte. We keep getting affected by Hurricane Ike and we don't live anywhere near the Gulf Coast!

Ben looks like such a big boy sitting at the table with all the other kids. I think he was one of the youngest kiddos there and I was impressed that he would actually sit in his chair. (It took a few attempts)Once the Elmo cake arrived he definitely sat still to enjoy it.

Bengals Sunday

We've been waiting since the end of 2007 for this day - the first Bengals game of 2008. Unfortunately they played terribly and lost, but Ben and Elise had a nice time playing together during the game. Elise came all decked out in her Bengals tutu.

It was impossible to get a picture of Ben & Elise with both of them looking at the camera!

The game was so boring that Ben found it more interesting to shovel Michael's hair.

You mean to tell us we have 15 more games??

The dads and kids went to the park after the game. I think the dads needed to let off some post-game steam. Let's hope next week they play better!
